Workplace Testing
Workplace testing is a common practice in many jobs, both as a pre-requisite to qualifying for a position, and on an ongoing basis to monitor performance. Medical testing of all kinds currently exists for many jobs in Australia. ​

For example, a medical examination is required for all railway workers in order to ensure their fitness to work on the railway. The examination includes a physical examination, drug and alcohol testing and a psychological evaluation. Similarly, certain types of drivers, such as bus drivers, are required to undertake a medical examination which includes a physical examination, vision test and other tests to assess the driver's physical and mental health. Other industries also require testing of candidates for pre-employment evaluation, including construction, healthcare, mining, defence, rail safety, and transportion.

Currently Available Testing
While there is currently no way to directly test how compassionate anyone may be, it is possible to determine if someone lacks compassion through other types of psychological tests.
It is also possible to physically test for psychopathic traits. In this regard, neuroscientists using MRI scans have discovered that psychopathic people have a 10% larger striatum than regular people. The striatum is a cluster of neurons in the subcortical basal ganglia of the forebrain. This represents a clear biological distinction between psychopaths and non-psychopathic people.

The Compassionate Party of Australia is currently being guided by a group of professionals to determine which tests would be most suitable for psychological, and/or physical, employment-related testing of politicians.

Following, is a list of tests that currently exist that could be used for compassionate testing. ​These tests, when used in conjunction with an MRI, could possibly determine the compasssionate suitability of potential and current politicians.
