COMPASSION

Compassion is sympathetic concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.

(Oxford dictionary)

Having compassion, therefore, is to empathise with someone who is suffering, but most importantly, it is to feel compelled to reduce that suffering.

This principle of compassion constitutes the primary concern of The Compassionate Party of Australia and underlies all policies that flow from it.
